THE HIDDEN FEATURES OF BRYCE 5
HOW TO PRODUCE FRUITS WITH TREE LAB
The new Bryce 5 Tree Lab is a great feature for making all four essential components
of a tree: tree overall shape, tree trunk, tree branches and tree foliage.
Now we are going to add a fifth component (with some limitations) - Tree Fruits.
The secret formula is ... to substitute branches and trunks with forms and textures imitating Fruits!
All 3D images are straight out of Bryce 5 with no post work or image processing.
STEP ONE Please be patient and follow the instructions!
First: Open a new scene in Bryce and select a Tree.
Second: Click on the "E" box to enter the Tree Lab.
Third: In the Tree Lab customize the object and enter
the same digits in all red circles as in the image below.
Fourth: Go back to Bryce scene and render.
And voila, you have now a "naked" tree!
STEP TWO It's time to "dress" the Tree!
Customize again the object in the Tree Lab and enter new digits in red circles.
Go back to Bryce scene and render.
Is it better now?
STEP THREE Customize again the object in the Tree Lab and enter new digits in red circles.
Go back to Bryce scene and render.
This is the final image. If you like it go ahead and try the other pictures.
As you have seen making Tree Fruits instead of brances and trunks is a pure Metaball technique.
I hope in the next Bryce version, Fruits and Flowers technique should be
implemented separately from trunks and branches.
Thanks for your patient and efforts and have fun!
